Electroless plating, also known as autocatalytic plating, is a plating method that does not require an external current. The principle is: without the need for electricity, based on the principle of redox reactions, a strong reducing agent is used to reduce metal ions in a solution containing metal ions into metal, which is then deposited on the surface of various materials to form a dense coating. Commonly used electroless plating solutions include: electroless silver plating, nickel plating, copper plating, cobalt plating, nickel phosphorus plating solution, nickel phosphorus boron plating solution, etc.

Compared with electroplating, electroless plating technology has the advantages of uniform coating, small pinholes, no need for DC power supply equipment, the ability to deposit on non-conductors, and certain special properties.
